We would like to introduce Gabriel Méndez, our Volunteer Coordinator for the 2013 OHNY Weekend.

Gabriel grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, and will personally give you a nickel if you know where that is. Drawn to the idea of big city life, he got his first taste of New York as an undergrad at NYU where he received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology. During and since his undergrad years, Gabriel has worked with a number of institutions dedicated to education and the enrichment of cultural landscapes, including the Museum of the Big Bend in his native Texas, and New York’s own American Museum of Natural History.

A Few Fun Facts About Gabriel:

– Has played guitar for 11 years

– Is a seasoned city wanderer

– Can quote the entirety of dialogue in Wayne’s World

– Was his high school’s mascot (Go Cougars!)

You can contact Gabriel at for more information on volunteering for the 11th Annual OHNY Weekend, October 12 & 13, or register directly today!
