For so many people around the world, the image of New York is synonymous with its dazzling nighttime skyline. Open House New York is excited to announce that this year, the first official “OHNY at Night” series will extend the excitement of OHNY Weekend past sundown to consider how the art of lighting the urban environment shapes our experience of the city. OHNY at Night is organized in collaboration with the Illuminating Engineering Society New York City Section, and highlights Lumen Award-winning lighting projects and projects by Lumen Award-winning lighting designers.

Tours of ten significant exterior lighting design projects will explore how lighting designers and engineers envision, plan, and execute the illumination of the city’s buildings. Join in to better understand how light is used to keep New York looking its best after dark!

All OHNY at Night tours require reservations. Tour descriptions will be released on September 30 at ohny.org and reservations begin on October 1.
